<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;">It’s a reasonable question to ask.  </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;">A couple of years ago we surveyed the leading job boards (CareerBuilder, HotJobs, Monster and Nurse.com) to see which was the most comprehensive source of nursing jobs.  We compared job postings on each of these boards to the jobs posted on employer websites.  Our comparison used 75 hospitals that were located within a 65-mile radius of center city Philadelphia. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;">The results were astounding. On average, job listings from the major job boards represented less than five percent the available nursing jobs within the region. <strong>Over 95% of available nursing jobs could not be found on leading jobs boards. </strong></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;">It didn’t take long to understand the nature of the problem.  For a number of reasons, which I will discuss in later posts, nurse recruiters were no longer posting their open jobs to the leading job boards. Because fewer nursing jobs were being posted, fewer nurses visited these sites. Eventually, these sites became largely irrelevant for nurses. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;">We created TooBusyWorking because we thought that nurses and nurse recruiters were severely underserved by traditional job boards.  One of our goals in creating TooBusyWorking was to provide nurses with information on virtually every open nursing position in the region (a 65-mile radius of Philadelphia).  Today our site has more local nursing jobs than CareerBuilder, HotJobs, Monster and Nurse.com combined.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0;"><span style="font-size:11pt;color:black;font-family:&quot;">In future posts, I will discuss pricing, the role of intermediates, ease-of-use, micro-targeted advertising, employer branding<span>  </span>and other aspects of our site. In the meantime, I would appreciate your feedback about our site. Please send your emails to <strong>ChrisTaylor@TooBusyWorking.com</strong></span></p>
